I like the layout of the basement plans. You'll have to keep us updated. My husband and I remodeled our basement a while back. We hired all our contractors through eContractorBids.com and everything turned out great. Don't fret over the project, it will be done before you know it!

Speaking as someone who started their renos with the basement, it is a good feeling, knowing that every inch of your home is livable, useable space!!!
Will you be doing it yourself or hiring out? The plans look good. Just wondering why the door to the large room - I assume the family room - is so far down the wall, away from the stairs?
I want to renovate my basement. I think you should post a step by stop process from the beginning beginning- then I'll copy you.

The plan above is actually the "before"... we're many many iterations away from figuring out the final layout :)
We're also in the throes of planning our basement reno. Oy. Just another day in the exciting life of renovaters, right? =]
