Scoop du Jour: Sarah Richardson Casting Call

Hmm, I just noticed that most of my scoops seem to be about Sarah Richardson. Yes, I am one of her biggest fans, but if this keeps going on, it might border on 'stalker-ish' behaviour, don't you think?

No matter. Just got word of a scoop that I have to share with you: Sarah is casting for a new show! This one is focused on homeowners or renters who want a room in their house redecorated. That's right - no big renovations (a la Design Inc. or Sarah's House) - just simple, chic, makeovers from Sarah & her sidekick Tommy. Are you game (and live in the Greater Toronto Area)? Then click on over here and sign up!

On another related note, I just won tickets to hear Sarah speak at an event in early November. Yay! She's taking questions from the audience so I'll have to think something up to ask her. Any suggestions??

Cool , if only I had a room 15x15 or larger and loads of cash for them to go over....budget , that is scarey , yet awesome, where is she speaking?
it would be great if it were a blogger , we could get all the behind the scenes stuff.

Great scoop! I would probably be the second biggest fan next to you. I love her!! I have also heard that she is working on 'Sarah's Farm'! How fun will that be to watch?

Now, how big of a budget do you think she'll need for the room make-over?

I don't have a 15 x 15 room either, boooooo.

Re: Sarah's Farm, one of my best friends' husbands is a stonemason, he did work on the new place ;). Apparently fabulous (did you expect anything else?)

Darn - live in the Vancouver area. I would LOVE Sarah to come and do my house!

Aghhh. I need to move to Toronto! Or Sarah needs to share her vision with some neighboring US states!!

Just came back from Toronto on Sunday. Stayed at the Pink Suite at the Park Hyatt that Sarah designed. Swoon.

Chris - that would be awesome if a blogger won! Yeah, the room budget is $10,000 and in the questionnaire they ask if you have additional budget... guess signature Sarah does cost a bit of $. I'm seeing her at this event: http://www.kraftcanada.com/tassimo/TassimoEvent.aspx

Sarah LaRose, LauraJane - thanks for the info :) Can't wait for Sarah's Farm. What's next... Sarah's Condo?

J2 - I look forward to seeing more pics of your Toronto trip on your blog! Hope you found some fun stuff at Designer Fabrics etc.

I also won tickets for Nov 7th thanks to you- I found about it through your post so Thank-you!Maybe I'll see you there. I'm wondering if questions have be about holiday decor & entertaining or anything we wish?

My question for Sarah is not design related. Would you know where she buys her beautiful necklaces from? I know her jackets and coats are mostly Smythe Les Vestes (Tommy's sister?)

I wasn't able to buy anything at Designer Fabrics...I was overloaded! I think I'll browse on line now. In the back of my head I was thinking...maybe I'll see Tommy or Sarah!

Thanks for the scoops on Sarah!

This is too funny- I was going to ask you to ask Sarah where she buys her necklaces also. Looks like j2 beat me to it! Great minds think alike, huh?

Oh my gosh. If only I lived in the Toronto area.

The 15'x15' requirement will be very limiting, especially for older Toronto houses, but I'm sure they will get a lot of interest. I was really hoping we could submit our sunroom until I saw that. Hope you guys can submit a room!

Hi,
I need some help! I read in a forum that you gave Hart House great reviews for your wedding. My fiance and I are planning on doing our wedding at Hart House too and we are just a tad bit worried about the quality of the food. Pls advise!
Also- I noticed you had your wedding in August as well- we are thinking of doing it a Saturday evening reception- Did you find the space too hot for your daytime reception? Thanks a bunch!!

Hi Jeanne! Could you send me an email at ramblingrenovators@gmail.com and I'll reply back with my thoughts on Hart House? Thanks!

I worked from home today and got to watch episode after episode, love her! Hugs from conroe, tx!

Oh. My. Goodness.
Have just discovered your blog and I love everything.
Chloe's nursery is deeeeevine - I love the yellow and grey in a baby's room. I think a baby's room should be calming, not all bright colours and stimulation. Just wondering where you got the yellow quilt and the pink C? I love them both so very much! Hopefully I can find something similar downunder...
Stop by me sometime, Em

i love sarah sooooo very much. she is my inspiration while renovating our place. when we tackle a project, I try to think what would sarah do? lol.

Wondering how she picks her paint colors. does she get the general feel of the colors then get samples in the color to paint in each room to test?

Wanderluster said...

Nancy W - lucky you! Nothin' better than a Sarah marathon :)

Emma - Thanks for dropping by! I got the quilt and the pink C at a store here in Toronto, HomeSense (same as HomeGoods in the US). Unfortunately, I've checked and neither the quilt nor the C have any markings as to who the manufacturers are :( I'll drop by your blog too!

Jessica - funny, I ask myself the same question too, lol. Yes, Sarah always gets sample pots to test out her colours on site. I find she mostly uses CIL brand paints.
